On Sunday February 11, 2024 William Reinholdt Bladh passed away peacefully at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was known by his family and friend as Willie and/or Bill. Willie was born on 11 March 1940 in East Los Angeles, California to his parents Reinholdt Wilhelm Joseph Bladh who was born in Sweden and Beda Joseph Steele who was born in Vermont. He attended Brigham Young University where his roommates inspired him to go on a mission to Hawaii.
He arrived home from his mission in March 1962. He then met his future wife, Arlynn Briskey and married her on 4 Sep 1962 in the St. George Temple. They had two beautiful children, a son William Daniel Bladh and daughter Laura Lynn Bladh-Moe in Whittier, California. Arlynn passed away on 15 May 1966 in Whittier.
William met his future wife April Kyle Davis (widow of Richard Davis). She had two beautiful daughters, Lori Davis and Richelle Davis-McDaniel. William and April where married in the Salt Lake Temple on 23 January 1967 and united the families. Their family lived in Whittier, California where they had three more beautiful children-Tonya Bladh-Burke, Kyle Bladh, and Faith Bladh-Quick.
Willie had an Associate Degree from Fullerton Jr. College and was always working to support his growing family. He was a flooring installer and expert (Owner of B&B Carpet Store in La Habra, California). He also was a successful Real Estate Agent until he retired.
Willie lived most of his early life with his family in California, including the family Cabin in Barton Flats (Big Bear, California) where many family members and friends were able to create wonderful memories together. He also lived in Missouri and Utah where he finally retired to Goshen with his wife April
Willie was a “Workaholic” but in his younger years he loved to play baseball. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, golfing and shooting at the range. Willie was also an animal lover, but his favorites will always be his dogs, Shawn and Buddy, and of course his beloved “girls” - his chickens.
He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed the many callings he served in throughout his busy career. Willie enjoyed being in the Bishopric and thoroughly enjoyed speaking at church. He had many teaching rolls at church and he became very talented at it. His classrooms would always be full of those who enjoyed his wonderful knowledge and compassion.
Willie was a dedicated and wonderful husband to his beautiful wife April who he loved with all his heart. He was a beloved father to his children and grandchildren and was a loyal friend to so many and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed help.
During Willie’s life journey he developed a large group of friends whom he loved dearly. He was known for his friendship, compassion, honesty, loyalty, sense of humor and joyous personality. His love for Christ was without restrictions and his loyalty to God and his Country were as solid as the Earth we live on.
William R Bladh has joined his beautiful daughter and angel whom he loved dearly, Richelle (Chris McDaniel) in heaven. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend April Kyle-Bladh; his children: Lori Davis, William Daniel Bladh (Amy Orrock-Bladh), Laura Lynn Bladh-Moe (Kevin Moe-deceased/Jeff Carpenter) Tonya Bladh-Burke (Chris Burke), Kyle Reinholdt Bladh, and Faith Bladh-Quick (Larry Quick); his grandchildren: Dustin B Moe (Kylie Yates-Moe), Blade R Moe (Kylee-Berry-Moe), Jessica Moe-Gracia (Brandon Gracia), Haley Moe (Jerimiah Sanchez), Jordin McDaniel-Bingham (Jeff Bingham), Steven Wade McDaniel (Rachel McDaniel), Kelly McDaniel, Jacob Bladh (Jason Langlois), Catherine Bladh-Thompson (Brock Thompson), Joshua Bladh (Sheldon Boone-Bladh), Benjamin Bladh (Faith Taylor-Bladh), Naomi Bladh, Casden Bladh, Conner Bladh, Reagen Bladh, Bella Bladh, Maya Quick, Kaira Quick, Ryan Burke, David Burke, Sam Burke, and Faith Burke; his great grandchildren: Indie Brielle Moe, Jaxon Kevin Moe, Emerald Anderson, Lucy McDaniel,Emma McDaniel, Jane McDaniel, Ragnar Thompson, Thea Thompson, Gracie Bladh, Adrian Bladh, Julianna Bladh, Kenton Bingham, McKinley Bingham, Karter Bingham, Kolton Bingham, and four new great grandchildren on the way.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Goshen chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 75 So. Center Street, Goshen, Utah where family will greet friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Goshen City Cemetery.
