Our sweet daughter, Whitney Bergener, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Provo, Utah surrounded by her family. Whitney was 23 years old. She was born July 15, 1992 in El Paso, Texas to Luis Roberto Bergener, born in Piracicaba, Brazil, and Roxanne Rash Bergener, born in Smithfield, Utah.
Whitney and her family moved to American Fork in 1993. She attended American Fork High school and was active in the orchestra program. Her senior year she was selected to perform at Abravanel hall with the All-State Orchestra. It was such a highlight in her life; the violin was her joy. She enjoyed playing the violin, reading, hiking, being with family, giggling, chocolate ice cream, playing cards with the family, and being with those close friends who always loved, supported and cared for her.
Whitney was employed at Red Lobster in Murray as a lead server. Prior to that she worked at Tucanos Brazilian Grill and Buca de Beppo. She took great pride in the work she did and loved serving and helping people. She had planned to attend Utah State University in the fall to study music therapy. Whitney was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had high goals of living a happy, healthy life.
Whitney is survived by her parents, Luis and Roxanne Bergener (American Fork), a sister, Jamie Bergener (Sugarhouse), two dogs, Missy and Keno, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who dearly loved her. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Anna Beth and Atrilla Shaw Rash, Maria Tereza and Alvaro de Paula Assis, and Opal and Arthur Bergener, her aunt and uncle Eduardo de Paula Assis and Marilia de Paula Assis.
