Valeri Powell
December 25, 1962 — February 11, 2012
Our loving wife and mother passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in North Salt Lake, February 11, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born December 25,1962 in Fillmore, Utah to Martell and Virginia Johnston. She married Roydean Powell August 6, 1983.
Valeri loved to be with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She had a love of reading and spent many hours wrapped in a blanket reading a good book. Her children will always remember her as a woman of incredible strength.
Valeri is survived by her children: Annetta (Brandon) Simmons of North Salt Lake, UT; Kellyjo (Dennis) Cook of Eureka, UT; William (Brenna) Powell of Ephraim, UT; Taz, Angel and Cheyenne Powell of Pleasant Grove, UT; 9 grandchildren, also by her Mother-in-law, Gloria Powell and brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Roydean, her little sister and best friend, Lorena, Father Martell, Mother Virgina, Step-father Norman Mackey and 1 grand-daughter Cherokee.
A service is planned for Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, UT. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting contributions to assist with covering expenses.
