Tonya Dee Barney

Tonya Dee Barney, age 54, passed away June 14, 2024, at her home in Payson, Utah. Tonya was born August 8, 1969, in American Fork, to John Edward and Carol Mae Covington Shook.

Tonya was blessed with two children, John and Ashley, and loved being their mom. She enjoyed spending time with them, and they were her pride and joy. She and Ashely loved going to the movies on Tuesdays and on long drives.

Tonya was a kind and loving person who would do anything for you. She was the life of the party and a social butterfly. 

Tonya is survived by her daughter Ashely (Ryan) Sandman and brother John (Natalie) Simpson. She was preceded in death by her son John Jay Barney, parents John and Carol Shook and brother Tommy Simpson.

Graveside services will be Friday June 21, 2024, at the Santaquin City Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. A viewing will be held that morning from 10:00 – 12:00 at Brown Family Mortuary in Santaquin prior to the services.
