Sue Ann Okelberry

d. October 5, 2014

Sue Ann Jasperson Okelberry, age 75 of Goshen, returned to her loving Heavenly Father and was reunited with her parents, sister and grandson on October 5, 2014.  In her final days, she was surrounded in the love of her family as she succumbed to a stroke.  She was the daughter of Orval and Grace Robinson Jasperson, born February 6, 1939.

Sue Ann and Ray Okelberry were married December 20, 1958.  They were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple in March of 1964.  They were celebrating 55 years together.

She graduated from Payson High in 1957.  She enjoyed living in Salt Lake City and attending U.S.U. in Logan.  She loved music, singing and dancing.  Her family was her joy.  She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother as well as a beloved friend and caregiver to many.

She was a historian; reading, writing and telling family and town histories.  She loved Goshen and was proud of her heritage; growing up on the Jasperson family ranch.  She was an important part of the Okelberry family ranch and livestock business.  She loved caring for the little animals and taking trips to the mountains.

Sue Ann was an active member of the LDS church serving as Stake Relief Society President for seven years.  Her faith and temple work sustained her.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends.  Her pastimes included: reading church literature, writing letters, movies, shopping, dressing up, country music, concerts, trips, bowling, dining out, candy and visiting those in need.  She was patriotic and proud of America.

Survivors include her husband, Ray; her brother, Bill (Donna) Jasperson; her children, Rae Ann Wick, Brian (Ann) Okelberry, Shana (Rick) O’Brien, Karen (Neal) Carter, Eric (Kristi) Okelberry, Teresa (Kevin) Zillig.  She is a grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Jasperson, and her grandson, Riley O’Brien.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Intermountain Hospice and Utah Valley Hospital for their gentle care and support.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 10th at 1:00 pm at the Goshen LDS Church, 75 So. Center.  Friends may call at the Brown Family Mortuary, 66 So. 300 East, Santaquin Thursday 6 to 8 pm and Friday at the church from 11:45 to 12:45 pm prior to services.  Interment, Goshen Cemetery.
