Shirley Johnson

Shirley Rae Taylor Johnson, 88, passed away early in the morning of Friday, October 5, 2013. She was the oldest of two children born to Virgil P. and Vera Johnson Taylor on August 3, 1925 in Santaquin, Utah. She Married Mark E. Johnson February 8, 1945 in Santaquin.

She was a devoted mother focused on home and family, and loved by all who knew her. She served in many capacities in the community and enjoyed it.

She was an accomplished seamstress and was very talented in creating beautiful  things for their home, most recently creating porcelain dolls. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and the ensuing discussions.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Latter Days Assisted Living Center and  Maple Creek Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care provided for our Mom.

She is survived by her brother, Ross (Mutt) Taylor; her children, Tim Johnson, Rick and Lana Johnson, Chris and Vonna Johnson, Lisa and Wayne Newton; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant son, Jerry Martin Johnson .

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 9th at 11:00 am at the Santaquin 1st ward Chapel, 345 West 100 North. Friends may call at the Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm  and Wednesday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to services.  Interment, Santaquin City Cemetery.
