Russel Lane Christensen

Russel Lane Christensen, 49 of Provo, Utah, died unexpectedly January 10, 2024.

Russel married Katrina Cornish on October 4, 2017. They resided in Santaquin, Utah until November 2023.

Russel was a truck driver by trade for several years. He later worked in several different industries trying to find his niche, but never found anything that replaced his love of driving truck. He loved his family and having family get togethers. He was a people watcher and loved getting to know others. He had a drive to help others whenever he could. As much as he loved people, he also loved to argue and would do so just to get a rise and a smile out of someone. Russel really enjoyed the outdoors and driving to the canyon for a campfire or walk. He was an avid art fan and would draw for hours if time permitted.

Russel, like many others, also battled with mental health issues and alcohol addiction. His demons were very real. Those things caused him many personal and family issues during his life. However, during his clear, lucid moments, he wanted to get better. He truly loved his family and was a good, kind and caring man. He genuinely loved his wife and children and all other important people in his life.

Russel is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Arthur and Sherrie Cornish; brother and lifetime idol Richard; his sister Sarah; brother-in-law Cory Cornish, and stepdaughter Sabryna Dawn Clements. He is survived by his wife Katrina Christensen of Provo; children Angel (24), Ryan (21), Karben (18), and Faythe (15); stepchildren Skylar Cornish (31) and Shawn Clements (20); parents Rick (Darlene) of Murray, and Bonne Elane Vanamen (Sam) of Sandy; siblings Robert Christensen (Becky) of Murray, Cherissa Cox (Ben) of Clinton, Josh Christensen of Murray; sisters-in-law Hailee Jones Smith of Provo, Jada (Javee) Lowe of Santaquin, Anitra Cornish of Lehi, and Deidra (Garth) Sumsion of Springville; and many other relatives and friends.

There will be an open house Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. where friends can visit, remember and celebrate Russel's life at 251 South 900 West Provo, Utah. A light meal will be provided. Later in the spring, there will be a formal graveside service.

The family would like to thank Mark Brown and Brown Family Mortuary for the respect and care they have provided.
