Ron Ellis

Ron Ellis, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away January 26, 2024 in Santaquin, Utah.  He was born June 18, 1952 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to loving parents, George and Betty Ludlow Ellis, who instilled in him a deep sense of compassion and kindness.

His life was marked by his unwavering love for his family.  Ron and Trina Hudson were married March 14, 1986 in the Salt Lake City Temple.  His devotion to Trina was evident in every action he took and every word he spoke.   Their bond was unbreakable and their love served as an inspiration to all who know them. Ron’s daughters, Mechele and Megan were the light of his life; he cherished them with all his heart.   His grandchildren MaKaylee, Daygen and Lilly brought immeasurable joy into his world; they truly were the apple of his eye.

Ron was schooled in Idaho Falls, attended Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor of Science degree that reflected both his intelligence and dedication to learning.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Ron served in many capacities exemplifying his dedication to His Savior.  He served a mission in Germany that shaped him profoundly, strengthening his faith and serving others.  Ron continued ministering to his people long after being assigned. Throughout his life, Ron had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life.  Whether through simple acts of kindness or profound words spoken .  He touched countless lives with goodness.

He is survived by his wife, Trina, daughter, Megan, and his three grandchildren; three brothers, Dennis, Wade, Ryan and sister, Sharilee and step-mother, Bonnie Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved daughter, Mechele and her husband Caleb.

Services will take place at the LDS Downtown Building located at 90 South 200 East in Santaquin.  A viewing is scheduled in the Relief Society room Friday evening on February 2nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm as well as before the funeral from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturday morning, February 3rd followed by the funeral at 12:00 pm.

Ron leaves behind a legacy built upon love, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him personally or through stories shared by others.  We express gratitude to Santaquin 8th Ward and Trina and Ron’s neighbors.
