Rex Broadhead

Rex Otto Broadhead passed away in his sleep on May 14, 2014 after a long, valiant battle with cancer.  He is admired by all who knew him for his ability to stay positive and productive and keep a great attitude through all his trials.

His favorite thing in life was his family.  He loved to be with them and hear about all of their accomplishments.  He loved to raise horses, cows and hay.  He raised and trained horses for most of his life along with construction, management and other jobs.
He was very active in the LDS Church serving in many callings including Bishop in West Jordan.  He served a mission in Norway and two Stake missions.  He was currently teaching a temple class in Genola.

He will be missed by so many people because of his caring for them and his great personality.  He was and is a great example for us all.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; children, Duane (Lori), Lane (Holly), Cindy (Gary) Porter, Cari (Dallas) Anderson, Kim (Jill), Justin (Mandy); 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Douglas (Cindy), Phil (Janet); and a sister-in-law, Rozella.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Calvin.

Our family wants to thank everyone who touched his life in any way.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 19th at 11:00 am at the Genola LDS Chapel, Main & Center streets.  To honor Rex’s request there will not be a public viewing.  Interment, Genola Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
