Phyllis King

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Phyllis King, peacefully returned home to be reunited with her eternal sweetheart on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by love, at the age of 85. 

Phyllis was born on July 21, 1939, the youngest of 4 children born to Arthur and Thirma Cluff Hancock. She attended Brigham Young University, graduating in Special Education. While there, she met the love of her life, Paul Martin King. They married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1959, enjoying 54 years together and residing in Utah County. 

Phyllis filled her life with music, teaching, and family. She worked professionally teaching special education, though if asked, her favorite job title was always Grandma. Cheering from every sideline, silently supporting in every audience and major life event, she showed up for those she loved and claimed as her own. Her laughter and spirit will live on in her 8 children, 36 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. 

Phyllis was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life, including a mission with her husband, Paul. Her love and belief in her Savior brought peace and joy to her life, positively impacting many through her service and love. Her spirit and legacy will be carried on in our hearts until we meet again. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Payson 19th Ward LDS chapel, located at 482 W. 1400 S. in Payson, Utah, with a viewing for extended family beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Benjamin Cemetery following the services.

 The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who cared for Phyllis and helped her transition comfortably.
