Marian E.V. Haigh

Marian Elizabeth Victoria Haigh, 74, of Santaquin, Utah returned home to her Heavenly Father's loving arms on Thursday, October 24, 2024. After a valiant battle with heart failure, she passed the ultimate test of life and was able to return to her sweetheart, Paul, who passed in May of this year. Many others preceded her in death and awaited her at the veil.

Marian was born in a small town in England called Dukinfield to her mother, Emma Beverly, and her father, William Page. She is also preceded in death by her eldest brother, Michael Page, and survived by her second eldest brother, Brian Page. As an only girl, Marian was a princess. She could get away with anything as long as her father was around, she loved him dearly, and we know their reunion was joyous. She loved to cause a little mischief, and this is a habit that she never really outgrew. Her wit, fun-loving spirit, and banter brought joy to all she met throughout her life. She spent the first 14 years of her life in England and loved growing up there for every moment. When she was 14, her family decided to immigrate to the United States and found their home in Grand Junction, Colorado. She graduated in the class of 1968 and loved her experience at Grand Junction High School. She made friends that lasted her a lifetime, many of whom she kept in touch with for years to come.

Further down the road on a trip back to England, she bumped into a tall handsome man named Paul whom she knew from childhood as her brother’s best friend, at church on Sunday, went on a date on Monday, then were engaged the following Tuesday and married shortly after. The two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo, Utah temple in December of 1977. They moved back to England for a short time, where they had their son, Nathan, and then moved back to the States, where they had their daughter Dawn.

Marian had many vocations in this life but found her ultimate passion when she went back to school in her 50s and pursued her degree in education. She found a love for grade 7, middle school, which to many, sounds nightmarish, but to her, it was everything. She loved her students more than ever imaginable. She loved sparking creativity and seeing the passion that drove every one of them. Her classroom was decorated with teddy bears, books, dragons, and many other obscurities, but for anyone who entered, it was safe. Teaching is what she spent her life doing and is no doubt what she is doing beyond the veil.

Marian is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Haigh, her father and mother, William & Emma Page, her brother, Michael, in-laws, and many friends. We also know her reunion with her niece & kindred spirit, Holly Page was a joyful experience, and we know heaven is going to be a brighter place with the two of them in its fold. She is survived by her children, Nathan and Dawn. Dawn & Scott Kamerath were the pillars of her life that she could not have survived without, and she is eternally grateful. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Emma (Grant), Jacob, Eli, Noah, Tristan, Arden, Olivia, Maisey, and Lilly. She was also survived by many friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and especially her students.

Marian’s funeral service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Santaquin East Bench Church at 250 S. 580 E. Santaquin, Utah. Family will greet friends prior to the services from 10:00 to 10:45 am. She will then be brought to her final resting place with her husband in the Santaquin City Cemetery.

Marian, Grandma, Mom, Mrs. Haigh, we love you. We miss you. We hope to always have you close by.
