Mae E Crank passed away June 6, 2023. She is survived by her four children: Gwendala Crank, Colette Ames, Valarie Clark, and Rex Crank; 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mae is known for her strength and for being a spitfire. Mae fought many battles during her life as a child, in adulthood, and at the very end. Mae kept people on their toes and would say it how she saw it and didn’t sugar coat anything.
Throughout her life, she was there to help family and friends as much as she could. She battled cancer four times. The last cancer diagnosis was in 2005. Doctors gave her three weeks to live, and she proved them wrong. She always said it was her siblings that helped her through that terrible time, and it’s true! They are all amazing and the bond they have is one that was visibly cherished by everyone.
Mae worked her whole life and taught her kids the value of hard work, dedication, and loyalty. She always said her job wasn’t glorious and she didn’t use her brain but her Braun and was damn good at it. She is correct, she was!
Mae loved camping and sitting around the fire singing classic rock and country. She enjoyed taking the four wheelers out and getting dirty. Mae loved music. She enjoyed some great vacations including Cabo Saint Lucas and Cancun, Mexico. During those trips she rode horses and drove four wheelers on the beach, sipped pina coladas in a monkey coconut shell, and always made sure there were four to bring back for her kids. Man, I am sure that was a hardship. She was able to visit New Orleans, taking a boat ride on the swamp and visiting where they filmed “Interview with the Vampire.” Another favorite time was a trip to Disney World with her grandson.
Mae had a lot of pride in her appearance. She loved to get all dressed up and made sure she looked her best with her hair and make-up done, even while cleaning. That didn’t stop her from getting down and working hard with the men, talking like them too. She loved her crime books and shows. She knew the days and time of each of her favorites.
Mae will always be remembered for her strength and for being a spitfire. She will be greatly missed and loved always.
