Lee Madsen

On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Lee Hal Madsen, a loving father of four children passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69.

Lee was born on April 30, 1952 in Provo, Utah to Joseph Bert and RosaLee (Memmott) Madsen. He was raised in Vineyard on Geneva Road in a small 2 bedroom home with his large family. Lee went to local elementary schools, Orem Jr High School and graduated from Orem High School, Class of 1970, where he was actively involved in high school sports playing football, making lifelong best friends, and even taking State Championship in 1968.

Lee found the love of his life when he married Vickey in 1979 in the front yard of her parents home in Provo Canyon. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland temple in 1985. The couple were blessed with four beautiful children: Jennifer, Christopher, Cody, and Aubrey.

Lee and Vickey moved to Hollister, California in 1983 for new opportunities for his growing family. Lee became active in The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, where he served many positions including Primary, Sunday School President, Elder’s Quorum, along with many other callings. Lee loved living in Hollister, going to the beach and taking long drives with his family, including spending time with his loved ones and close friends.

In 1993, Lee and Vickey settled back in Utah County doing what he enjoyed most, spending time with family, attending all their many sports, and coaching softball, baseball, soccer, and even ice hockey.

Lee loved just hanging out with his children, his grandchildren, and friends. Lee had a dry sense of humor, quick wit and loved to laugh.

Before retiring in 2018, Lee drove truck for Walmart for 13 years and making many more lifelong friends.

The last few years Lee had lived with his daughters Jennifer and Aubrey. He appreciated everything they did for him. Lee had a close bond with his children… they were his world and he was theirs. He truly has been loved and will be missed by many.

Lee is survived by his wife Vickey of 42 years, his four children Jennifer, (Jay) Saratoga Springs, Ut; Christopher, (Jami) Vernal, Ut; J Cody, (Whitney) Provo, Ut; Aubrey (Steve) Santaquin, Ut. and 22 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Muhlstein, Spanish Fork; brothers Daniel J (Kathy) Madsen, Orem; Robert Alan Madsen, Mona; John J (Rhonda) Madsen. Lee is survived by many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Lee is also preceded in death by his father Joseph Bert Madsen, mother RosaLee (Memmott) Madsen, Sister Patricia (Madsen) Cluff, brother Michael Madsen, brother in law Richard Muhlstein, sister in law Nellie (Ferguson) Madsen, and brother in law Mark Cluff, and mother in law Judith C Babb Evans.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South in Pleasant Grove Utah.  Family and friends may visit prior to Services at 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah following the funeral. A light lunch will be provided for the family following the funeral services.
