Kathy Jean Chatwin

Kathy Jean Kinsey Chatwin was born July 10, 1962 to Connie Jean Gordon and Ellis Kinsey.  She was the third of six children. She passed away November 19, 2022 after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Kathy was raised in Orem, Utah. She married Craig Peay in 1979 and together they had two sons, Jesse and Kellen Peay. They later divorced.  That’s when Kathy met her soul mate, Merrill Chatwin. They were married on April 2, 1989.  Together they had their son Cleon K. Chatwin.  They raised the boys on their family farm in Genola, Utah.  Kathy loved working with Merrill on the farm, from driving tractors to hauling hay.  There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do.  She was also a very talented artist. She loved to paint, draw, and cross stitch.

Kathy loved her family and her animals.  She had regular farm animals like pigs, goats, horses, cows and chickens, but she also had a love for exotic pets. She had llamas, fallow deer and Emu’s.  But her true love in the animal world was Chateau, her Bernese  mountain dog.

Kathy’s favorite holiday was Halloween. People would come from all over to see her amazing decorations in her yard.  She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She was definitely not afraid to speak her mind.  She was a beautiful soul and will be missed by many.  We love you Kathy Jean.
