On Friday, January 29, 2021 JVar Gillman, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father. JVar was born on January 11, 1932 to Alvin “Snow” and Louie Thorne Gillman. He was the third son in a family of seven.
He spent his entire life living in Lindon, Utah, with the exception of when he served in the Army during the Korean War. Dad attended Pleasant Grove High School where he loved his agriculture and wood working classes.
Dad learned at an early age to work hard on the farm working alongside his father and brothers. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, grow or build. After his retirement from Utah Power and Light, he continued to work on the farm spending many long hours in the fields hauling hay, feeding cattle, and taking care of his family.
In the last few years, he spent a lot of time in the wood shop building his family handcarts, covered wagons, stagecoaches, and chuck wagons, which are priceless treasures.
JVar married the love of his life, LaDean H Walker on August 13, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife LaDean of 67 ½ years; daughter Jadean (Robert) Spencer, son Blake J (Cindy) Gillman, daughter Cynda (Daniel) Limb, daughter Stacey (Michael) Privett; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; siblings Rayola, Clint, and Leon. He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Snow, mother Louie, and his brothers Lowell, Dale, and Paul.
