Jennie Lynne Bowler Davenport, 78, of Genola Utah passed away Saturday November 9th, 2019 at her home, with family around her after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born on December 25, 1940 in St. George, Ut to Harry and Harriet Bowler. Her mom said that she was nice enough to wait until after Christmas Dinner to be born.
Jennie married Dale Davenport on May 20, 1961 in the Manti, Utah Temple.Together they had 12 children. She was very proud of the fact that she had six sons & six daughters.
Jennie had a quiet demeanor but an unmistakable presence. She was a baby whisperer. She could calm any crying baby, and had a way of making all kids feel loved, this was evidenced by all the children that she babysat over the years.
Jennie’s life work was her family. She spent countless hours in the kitchen and garden. She made the best homemade bread. She would gather her girls to bottle the fruit and vegetables from the garden and many fond memories came from this.
Jennie was not afraid of hard work. Besides consistently keeping up with the house and children she also helped on the farm. She could be found in the fields changing sprinkler pipes, or driving the truck while hauling hay. She helped care for the animals and always had a soft spot for them.
Jennie is survived by her Husband, Dale Davenport, Children: Christie (Alma) Leavitt, Michelle (Mike) Johnston, LaRinda (Trent) Taylor, Hyrum (Jennifer) Davenport, Mathew Davenport, Charles (Tonja) Davenport, Beth Hanger, Preston (Christy) Davenport, Aaron (Natalie) Davenport, Cecilia (Jason) Segedy, Linnea (Romney) Davis, Spencer (Carrie) Davenport, 50 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
