Jack Thomas Garbett, age 88 of Eureka, passed away August 24, 2024, surrounded by family at Mountain View Hospital. Jack was born in Eureka on April 3, 1936, to Thomas and Clara Decker Snell Garbett and he was one of seven children.
Jack married Geraldine Evelyn Gren on December 10, 1962, in Ely, Nevada. She had five children, Sandra Fullerton, Pauline Taylor (deceased), Janet Larson, Gordon Hansen (deceased) and Bill Hansen. Together Jack and Geraldine had one daughter, Jeri. He loved Geraldine and after she passed, he would spend much time at the cemetery to visit her. He was an excellent father to Jeri, and she misses him dearly. He is finally out of pain and with his wife, as it should be.
Jack worked many jobs throughout his life; he was a miner for Eureka mines, a diamond driller for Boyles Brothers, a pipe fitter for Dugway Proving Grounds, a mechanic for Snowbird, and a heavy equipment mechanic for IPP Delta.
Jack is survived by his daughter Jeri (Larry) Ezell; granddaughters Jackie Ezell and Jessie Ezell (Garrett) Olsen; great-grandchildren Victor, Ayva, and Trevor; step-daughter Janet (Jim) Larson. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Clara; wife Geraldine; brothers Max Garbett, William Garbett Sr., Allen Garbett, and Richard Garbett; sisters Lucille Garbett, Gloria Wilson, and Colleen Taylor.
