Gordon Bruce Walters, age 87 of Elberta, passed away January 20, 2024, in Payson, Utah. He was born August 26, 1936, to Thomas Floyd and Vera Lewis Walters in American Fork on his Grandma Walters couch with the help of a midwife.
He went to school in American Fork and Provo. He joined the Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic, serving for 4 years. When he came home, he married Carol Featherstone at the Provo City Hall on July 1, 1958. Gordon was a volunteer fireman and had to fight a fire on their wedding night. Together they had four children: Gordon Bruce Walters Sr, Brett Thomas Walters, Bobby Lynn Walters, and Julie Ann Walters. In 1991 they moved to Elberta, Utah.
Gordon got a job working at the Tooele Army Depot, where he retired after 30 years 1991, he moved to Elberta, Utah. He loved his family, old cars, and fishing. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children: Brett, Bobby, and Julie, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Carol, and oldest son Gordon.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Orchard Care Assisted Living and Hospice for the care they gave Gordon, it was very appreciated.
A viewing will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Elberta LDS Church, 15300 S 12800 W Elberta, Utah.
