Florence Lamb
Florence Cannon Lamb, 91, passed away November 27, 2006 in Santaquin, Utah. She was born June 20, 1915 in St. George, Utah to Raymond and Elizabeth Matilda Truman Cannon. She married Justin “R” Lamb June 19, 1934 in St. George. He died Sept. 17, 1991. She married Thomas Ewell May 22, 1993 and he preceded her in death.
Florence was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in all organizations. She wrote “Bell’s Ring for Santaquin Tintic Stake for 18 years and “In My Opinion, both published in the Payson Chronicle. She also helped write “Santaquin Thru the Years”. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and organ, and painting landscapes. She loved to teach. She was instrumental in establishing the Santaquin Museum. She especially loved the gospel, her country and her family.
She is survived by her children, LaDean (Ed) Westover, Santaquin, Mona (Jerry) Woodbury, Taylorsville, Shirley (Roger) Porter, Orem, David (Dianne) Lamb, Taylorsville, Dennis (Rocky) Lamb, Santaquin; 28 grandchildren and 77 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Helen (Tony) Madsen, Richland, Washington, Muriel (Dayne) Mathis, Monroe, Utah and Alene (Dan) Schmutz, St. George; brother-in-law, Lynn Crook, Alpine. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Justin Lamb and Hal (Buzzy) Lamb.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the Old Santaquin Stake Center, 90 South 200 East. Friends may call at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Santaquin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
