Elver Boyle

Elver Simmons Boyle and Marcia McBride Boyle shared an extraordinary love story spanning 64 beautiful years. Their journey together began with a chance meeting at a dance in San Francisco, a moment that changed both their lives forever. That very night, Marcia confided in her mother that she had met the man she was going to marry. True to her word, they were wed on July 15, 1960, and for eternity, as they were sealed in the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 25, 1974. Their commitment to one another was rooted in their covenants with each other and God, and their shared faith in the Celestial Plan.

Elver passed away on December 2, 2024, just shy of his 89th birthday. Marcia, unable to bear even a moment’s separation from him, followed him to their heavenly home four days later, on December 6, 2024, at the age of 85. Their earthly departure was as much a testament to their love as their lives together had been.

Throughout their marriage, Elver and Marcia were devoted to their family and embraced a life of selflessness and hospitality. Their home and hearts were always open, not only to their children but also to friends and strangers alike. When asked how long they had lived alone as a couple, their heartfelt answer was, “Only until our firstborn joined us.” Their family was the center of their joy and purpose.

Elver and Marcia leave behind a loving family who will carry their legacy forward. They are survived by their three children and their spouses: Terri and Kerry Simpson, Denise Lynn Anton and Eric and Roxanne Boyle ; their six grandchildren: Chris, Alex, Quincy, Jacob, Melody, and Noel; and four great-grandchildren. Their family finds solace in knowing that Elver and Marcia are now reunited in the heavens, watching over them with the same love and devotion they shared in life.

Marcia and Elver will be laid to rest together in the Payson, Utah, cemetery in the Boyle family plot, alongside Elver’s parents, Cavel and Verda Boyle. A memorial service and celebration of their lives will take place on December 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Stone Ward Building, 6030 West  Prairie View Dr., Taylorsville, Utah.

Their enduring love story and legacy of faith, kindness, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved them. They will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
