Donna Ellen Peterson Christensen, age 77, passed away in the loving arms of her daughter in Tremonton, Utah on January 13, 2015. Donna was reunited with her wonderful husband, family, friends and her Heavenly Father. Donna earned her wings and is now pain free and diabetes free and can eat all the sugar she wants.
Donna was born on May 16, 1937 in Santaquin, Utah to Olof and Lula Christiansen Peterson. Donna grew up in Santaquin and lived there until her husband passed away and then moved to Payson. Donna graduated from Payson High School in 1954. At the age of nineteen Donna married Carl Jack Christensen in Kingman, Arizona and cherished the forty nine years she had with him.
Donna loved working in the yard with her husband and claimed it was her stress reliever. Their yard was always beautiful and she took great pride in the way it looked. Donna also loved to crochet, make baby blankets and quilts. It didn't matter how many times she had to unpick and start over it had to be perfect. The most important thing to Donna was spending time with her family whether it was camping, sitting on the deck or just hanging out. Donna loved living on main street in Santaquin. There was always someone stopping by to visit or just say hi. It didn't matter where Donna went she made friends and everyone loved her. Donna had one of those contagious smiles that will be missed dearly.
Donna is survived by: her daughter Karla (Scott) Gurnsey of Tremonton, Ut., son Ray Christensen, Spanish Fork, Ut., foster daughter Debbie Okelberry, West Valley, Ut., one brother Willis (Beverly) Peterson, Centerville, Ut. , 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
