Deanna Marie Wall Sorensen, 85, of Eureka, Utah, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023. Deanna was born December 15, 1937 in Eureka, the daughter of Henry and Faye Hone Wall. She graduated from Tintic High School in 1955. She was a lifelong resident of Eureka, Utah and an active member of the Catholic Church.
She married her high school sweetheart, Kay Sorensen, on November 10, 1956. They enjoyed over 60 loving years of marriage together. They had one son, Mike, on September 30, 1962. They had two grandsons, Kamryn and Kaysen, who were both the light of her life. She spent many hours tending, entertaining the boys, and supporting any event they were in.
Deanna was a stay at home mom who loved her family dearly. She was a people person and always enjoyed the company of others. Always cheerful and thoughtful, her infectious smile warmed your heart and made you feel welcome. Her smile was often commented on by others. She had many friends that she kept in touch with throughout her life. She especially looked forward to playing cards with the girls. She also loved bowling with the girls, and her team won many trophies over the years. One of her favorite hobbies was golfing where she spent countless hours on the course with friends and family. She was a member of the Lady Elks and was Lady Elks President where she fostered many friendships.
Deanna is survived by her son, Michael (Amy) Sorensen; grandsons, Kamryn and Kaysen all of Eureka. Also a brother, Carl (Helen) Wall, sisters-in-law, Noel Wall and Paulette Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kay Sorensen; dad and mom, Henry and Faye Wall; and twin brother, Don Wall.
We love you mom and we will miss you.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seasons of Santaquin for their loving care of mom. A special thank you to Richard, Natalie, and Michelle for the extra care given to her when it was needed most. Your love and kindness will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank the staff from Valeo Hospice for caring for mom. We want to give a special thank you to Roy for taking care of mom early on and also to Kylie for her loving care during her final days.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Brown Family Mortuary, Tintic Elks Lodge, and Ladies of Elks.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 121 No. Church Street in Eureka.
A Rosary service will be conducted Saturday, April 8th at 5:30 pm at the Tintic Elk’s Lodge, 285 West Main Street, Eureka, followed by a viewing from 6:00-7:30 pm.
Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
