After waiting 7 years to be reunited with his sweetheart and eternal companion, David Lee Roper, age 84, of Santaquin Utah, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 16, 2021. He was born in Eureka, Utah on June 14, 1937, the baby boy of Wesley D. Roper and Vivian B Bray Roper. David graduated from Payson High School where he was in the band and served as a drum major in the marching band. He sang in numerous musical productions with school and church. He married Barbara Faye Ney Partridge June 20, 1956 in the Manti Temple, who predeceased him in death on May 7, 2014. He resided in Santaquin for the last 30 years of his life.
David joined the Army National Guard in 1954, worked for Kodak which took him to several different states, and lastly retired from Payson City. He was an avid music buff, remote control airplane flyer and ham radio operator. David was a true son of God and dedicated his life to the Lord’s work and taking care of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend and led his family by pure example. He held many church positions in each of his wards over the years, was an avid participator in the ward choirs, and enjoyed his temple work in Dallas, Texas and Provo, Utah. He loved spending time with his family and he was known for his charity, generosity, patience and his true love for the Lord.
Our beloved father, brother and grandfather was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years at her passing, siblings, grandsons Cody and Nathan, daughter Joy Lynette, and son Daniel Lynn.
