Cynthia Lynn Smith, age 60, passed away on Sunday, July 1st, 2018. From the moment she was born, on September 11th, 1957, up to the moment of her passing, she blessed the lives of those around her with love, laughter, poetry, and her unique and unmatched talent with words. She was born in Grants, Valencia New Mexico, to Wayne and Nan (Burnett) Smith and was the second of five children. Her family moved to Santaquin Utah where Cindy attended Payson High School. Upon graduating high school, Cindy headed straight into the workforce. She was an interesting and well rounded woman which reflected in her professional life. She worked not only as a model but also as a surface miner, loader operator, an actress, and then professional wrestler. I feel that it is safe to say that she could and still would have knocked out the teeth of of anyone who messed with her family. She was an incredible “Momma Bear”. Eventually she settled down to work many long faithful years as a Program Manager at Klune Industries.
All of her life she loved to travel to new places and she is now currently on the biggest and most incredible adventure to date. She often found happiness in the blinking lights and tolling sounds which meant she would soon have an empty wallet but she just could not resist the joy and excitement and those amazing and occasional big wins! She loved to sit and share long stories, and talk about sweet memories and exciting plans for her future travels, with her family.
Left to honor and celebrate Cindy is her mother, Nan Smith, as well as her two sons, Casey Egan and Chet Thomas; two grandchildren which were the light of her life, Austyn Thomas and Gage Thomas; four siblings Leslie (Val) Broadhead, Kim (Keith) Broadhead, Jesse (Cori) Smith, Danny (Susan) Smith; step-brother, Terry Smith; aunt Barbara, uncles Bill (Rada) Burnett, Cleil (Mary) Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Smith, her uncle, Larry Burnett, and her grandparents. She will be remembered as a beacon of light that touched the lives of everyone that knew her.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 S 300 E, Santaquin, Utah. Graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Santaquin City Cemetery with Bishop Ben McKinnon officiating.
In Cindy’s poetry she expressed her faith and wishes for when she passed on the following excerpt: "I hope to be with Him someday, where goodness never ends. And help the people just like me, find the love that Jesus sends"
We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
