Colton Daren Anderson, our son, brother, friend, example, and hero, peacefully claimed his freedom from his limited mortal existence on October 3, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.
Colton made his entrance to his earthly experience on September 30, 1994, born into the family of Daren and Kelli Ogden Anderson. He was the second of five children. His siblings are, Cree (Brielle), Mason (Lindsey), Luke (Kelsey) and Melia.
Colton had the development and innocence of a three-year-old. Yet taught all of us life’s lessons in his own quiet and unique way. He led, unknowingly, by his perfect example of endurance and perseverance as he faced daily health challenges and limitations.
He loved the simple things in life. Among his favorites were: Winnie the Pooh, Hot Air Balloons, vacuums, garage door openers, RV Trailers, and thermostats/furnaces. He also loved chocolate chip cookies and M&M’s. He was the happiest and most content when he was involved with them.
At age 16 he was placed in a Chrysalis group home, where he was well cared for. He had home visits multiple times each week. He enjoyed his “trailer time” where he would hang out in the camping trailer snuggled in blankets watching DVD’s. Some of his favorites were: Frozen, Winnie the Pooh, Curious George, and Monster House. Colton had a special relationship with his Grandpa Van Anderson. They had a weekly time every Thursday evening which included Wendy’s along with “trailer time”. He always looked forward to this time.
We wish to thank so many caregivers and those that aided him throughout his life. We appreciate Dr. Francis Filloux MD, for his medical insights that afforded Colton a better quality of life. Chrysalis also provided outstanding care 24/7 for nearly half of Colton’s life. Many individuals from Colton’s childhood neighborhood would later become his staff and caregivers at Chrysalis because of Colton. We also wish to thank his Uncle Mark and the Brown Family Mortuary for their complete and tender dedication to his care once he passed.
Colton was preceded in death by his Grandpa David Ogden and Grandma Linda Anderson. Each of us look forward to the day of reunion when we can see and know Colton in his perfect state and continue to be taught by his love and example.
