Our loving mother and grandmother, Cherie Ann Swank, 63, of Santaquin, Utah unexpectedly departed this mortal existence and returned to her Heavenly Father and Savior on May 27, 2019.
There was nothing more important to Cherie than her family. She had a deep and abiding love for her eight children, 27 grandchildren and extended family. The time she spent with them brought her great joy. She is survived by her amazing children: Michael (Mary) Swan, Steven (Rebecca) Swan, Michelle Swan, Heather (Mario) Fabrizio, Sara (James) Mortensen, Jeffrey Anderson, Joshua (Jordan) Fassett and Jared Barbre; incredible grandchildren: Mia and Zoe Snow, Adam Swan; Nephi, Amanda, Jeremiah, Mikayla, Meghan, Daniel and Alyssia Swan; Jackson and Charlotte Larsen; Christian, Haylie and Dylan Heathington, Bradley, Ashlyn, Wesson, Tucker and Paisley Fabrizio; Luke, Bella, Royce, Abrahm, Shiloh, Jonah and Rockwell Mortensen; father Ralph Swank; brothers Robert (Tammy) Swank, Christopher (Michelle) Swank, sister Tami (Chad) Larkin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Joann (Kuchenriter) Draper and Stepfather Arthur Draper.
Born on April 14, 1956 in Stockton, Calif., she graduated from seminary and Franklin High School in 1973. A life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in many capacities, but mostly loved doing family history and temple work. She devoted her time to the temple and kept her temple clothes nearby so that she could go to the temple any time she was prompted, which was most days of the week. She had a righteous, faithful spirit and never wavered in her belief or testimony of Jesus Christ.
Throughout her life she was a known for her adventurous spirit. She believed life was meant to be lived and was always up for a little adventure — if there was an intriguing detour or interesting company to be found along the way, all the better. Cherie enjoyed every aspect of nature, it could be going for a walk along the Provo River, taking a hike in the mountains, loving and caring for animals or getting lost in her studies of the scriptures under a favorite tree-- these were just a few of her favorite things to do.
