Charles William Garner

Charles William Garner Jr (Bill) was born March 15,1946. Bill was the 2nd child born to Lois Allen and Charles William Garner. Being the first boy he was named after his father. He moved a lot the first few years between California and Utah. He graduated from high school in 1966 in California. He went on to serve an LDS mission in the British Isles at 19.

Bill met and married Hazel Loretta Potter in the Los Angeles temple July 27th 1968. He earned a degree in social work from BYU. Settled in Salt Lake City, Sandy, and then to Highland, Utah for 27 years. Bill and Hazel moved to Santaquin in 2008 where he lived out the remainder of his life. He was the father of 6 children. Troy, Darrell, Kerry (Jonathan) Fernandez, Bret (Annukka), Jeff (Janet), Holly (Rick) Lovell, and the grandfather to 13 grandchildren.

He quietly passed away in his sleep on June 24th after fighting heart disease for 30 years. Bill was a loyal husband and an amazing father and grandfather. He valued his family and stayed true to his beliefs. He was a kind and patient man who always had time for anyone. He loved nature and often expressed himself through poetry. He was a friend to so many lucky enough to know him. Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He will be sorely missed by his family.

Due to a number of family members being out of the country, his funeral will be held July 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Santaquin East Bench LDS Chapel located at 250 S 580 E Santaquin, UT. Friends may greet family from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to services.
