Carol Mae Shook Covington, age 79, passed away peacefully July 3rd with her son by her side in Santaquin, Utah. She was born November 1, 1942 in Park City, Utah to William Luther and Adele June Clark Covington.
Carol graduated from Provo High school and attended Cosmetology and Nursing school. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many church callings throughout her life. She married the love of her life, John Shook, on December 9, 1971 and they were later sealed in the Provo, Utah temple. She loved to craft, sing church hymns, gardening, canning and camping. She also had a love for teddy bears and watching Disney movies. Her favorite holiday was Christmas.
She is survived by her son John (Natalie) Simpson of Santaquin, daughter Tonya Barney of Payson, granddaughters Ashley (Ryan) Sandman of Spring Lake, Natasha, Neeshia, and Naihlee Simpson of Santaquin, and her sister Sandra (Donald) Henrie of Payson. She was preceded in death by her husband John Shook, son Thomas Mathew Simpson, grandson John Jay "JJ" Barney, 3 brothers and her parents.
The family would like to thank her Envision Home Health and Hospice nurses.
Funeral Services will be held Friday July 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santaquin East Bench Church, 250 South 580 East. A viewing will be held Thursday July 7th at Brown Family Mortuary from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
