Carol Marie Zollinger Haws, 76, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Carol was born on January 11, 1948, in Logan, Utah, to Asiel Aaron and Theda Mary Zollinger. Carol grew up in Sublett, Idaho, on the Zollinger family farm with her siblings Bill, Hazel, Cathy, Roland, and Russell along with many surrounding extended family and friends. While on the family farm, Carol developed a lifelong love of horses and books. She attended Raft River High School where she graduated as valedictorian of her class of 1966. Afterward, Carol attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, there earning a bachelor's degree in Home Economic Education.
While in Provo, Utah, Carol met and married Phillip Randall Haws on October 8, 1971, in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Carol and Phil spent their married life in Arizona and Utah and created their family through adoption. Having a natural love of children, Carol's greatest joy was being a mother to her four adopted daughters, Tanya, Valerie, Elizabeth, and Jamie, and eventually a grandmother to Landon, Maili, and Larsen.
A lifetime hard worker, Carol tried her hand at different occupations with teaching being her favorite. Always the fully dedicated servant to her faith, Carol loved her community with complete devotion and service where she never waivered from an opportunity to help someone in need. Mentor, teacher, and mother to all, Carol's caring nature, sense of humor, and indomitable spirit will be greatly missed.
Carol is survived by her husband, Phillip Haws; her children Tanya (Brian) Boyer, Valerie Haws, Elizabeth (Dean) Dean, and Jamie (Ashley) Haws; her siblings Bill (Chris) Zollinger, Hazel (Dave) Isolampi, Cathy (Lynn dec.) White, and Russell (Patty) Zollinger.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents Asiel and Theda (Almond) Zollinger; and her brother Roland (Kathy liv.) Zollinger.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 11:30 am at the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah. Arrangements provided by Brown Family Mortuary in Santaquin, Utah.
