Our sweet mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carma Elaine Bascom Bryant, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 surrounded by family.

She was born January 21, 1935 In Maeser, Utah to Roland Almon and Matilda Nelson Bascom. She attended Uintah High School where she participated in FHA, winning prizes in sewing in the make it with wool contest.

She married her sweetheart George Reed Bryant, February 13, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings in Relief Society, Primary and Mutual. She loved the gospel and especially loved the temple.

She loved to knit, crochet, and do all kinds of hand work and made 100s of quilts. She also made 100s of hats for the humanitarian program and countless “scrubbies” that she loved to give away.

Carma and George loved to hunt, camp, fish and spend time in the mountains. They lived in many different places and she made friends wherever she went. Carma loved her family and always looked forward to holidays, family get-togethers, and family reunions. Carma loved treats, and was an excellent cook. She made the best hot rolls, German chocolate cake, and Christmas candy.

They were blessed with 5 children, Robert (Jacquie), Bill (Kaylee), Jack ( Pauline), Melony Mortensen, and Bruce {deceased} (Kim). They have 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 soon to be 4 great-great grandchildren.
