Carl J. Van Ausdal, 85, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home in Santaquin. He was born May 1926, in Eureka, Utah. A son of Robert (Bert) Carl Van Ausdal and Norma Carver Van Ausdal. He married Vilia Dean Clark on June 16, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. One of which was the Santaquin Stake Girls camp (KoHoLoWo) host, along with his wife. He was employed with the Utah Department of Transportation and retired after 30 years. Carl and Vilia served an LDS Mission in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. He and his wife spent many winters in Yuma, AZ, along with many of their friends. He is a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vilia Dean, his children Ron (Bonnie) Van Ausdal of South Ogden, Kathryn Van Ausdal, Cheryl (Jon) Snelgrove and Debra Van Ausdal all of Sanatquin. 13 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 5 3/4 great great grandchildren. Two brothers and four sisters. He was proceeded in death by his father, mother, 2 brothers and one sister.
Friends and family may visit with the family Wednesday, May 16th from 6:00p.m. to 8p.m. at Brown Family Mortuary, 66 S. 300 E., Santaquin, UT.
Grave side services will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 11:00 am at the Santaquin City Cemetery with full military honors.
