Brady Nathan Plumb

Brady Nathan Plumb left this earth just 9 days after his 20th birthday on August 19th, 2024. He was born on August 10, 2004, to Kimberly and Nathan Plumb. Brady was the light of their life from the moment they laid eyes on him.

His parents later divorced and remarried blessing Brady with stepdad Joshua Hutchings and stepmom Renae Plumb. Brady’s family expanded to include 2 sisters and 3 brothers from his mom’s marriage and a sister and brother through his dads. Brady loved his brothers and sisters fiercely and spent his time teasing, playing, and even parenting (they may say “bossing”) them. He was such a wonderful example and mentor to them. He absolutely adored them, and they wanted to be just like him.

From an early age Brady was curious, brave, adventurous, and intelligent. He loved the outdoors and spent hours scavenging for rocks, bugs, and lizards. Brady love hiking. His love of hiking started at a young age when he began travelling and exploring with his dad and Renae. This passion only grew as he got older. He treasured the time spent hiking with his dad and would out hike anyone who dared to go with him. Brady was driven and a quick learner. He learned to slalom waterski in 1 day. He was so good at everything he did. He taught himself to play guitar and would whistle and sing everywhere he went. While his spelling skills were not so great, he was a fluent conversationalist. This talent served him well as he was relentless at researching every topic and subject he could so that he would be armed with knowledge in conversations and decision making.

Brady loved blankets! Especially Minky blankets. He liked pretty things! Especially pretty girls. When he was around 4 years old, he started a “pretty girl collection”. This was an exclusive list that included all the girls he deemed beautiful. He would let you know when you were added or removed from his “pretty girl collection” and depending on how he felt about you at the time, you could be in or out of the “collection” multiple times. When Brady started Jr, High School, he met a cute 9th grade cheerleader, Saige Wilkey. He was smitten and it wasn’t long after, that she became the only girl in his “pretty girl collection”. He started riding her bus home, and would then walk home from her house, just so he could spend time with her. He and Saige became inseparable and the Wilkey family soon became his family along with the extended Tischner family. Brady spent a significant amount of time with the Wilkey’s and Tischners. He never enjoyed Disneyland until he went there with the Wilkey’s. Together they shared so many laughs, tears, and adventures, but most of all they made some incredible memories.

To say Brady loved shopping and finding deals is an understatement. He was obsessed with finding the best bargain for anything and just this summer told his brother Dexter that he spent too much money and to return all his school clothes and let Brady do the shopping, as he would for sure find better deals! He was obsessed with his hair, shoes, windbreakers, jackets, and boxes. He loved a good box, and we are grateful to have some of his treasured boxes. He loved country music, capri suns, and uncrustables. Brady had a special bond with animals and children, and could soothe any crying baby, sometimes better than their own mom (just ask Luka).

Brady was one of the hardest workers around and was always trying to be independent while also finding a career he would love. At the age of 15 he got his first job at FiiZ in Salem, from there he worked at Tischner Ford, Apex Sheds, Spanish Fork City, and many others. He genuinely wanted to figure out what he wanted to do when he grew up. In January of this year, he began school to become a police officer and in April graduated as a Utah County Corrections Deputy. During his training he would practice arresting his brothers. They had so much fun helping him train and are grateful for such a funny memory. He immediately began working at the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork and was doing the job he had been searching for. He was such a kind soul and had compassion and empathy for many of the inmates. He was an excellent communicator and had a special way of connecting with those who challenged many of his peers. He loved his new career and was recently training to join the S.W.A.T. team.

Brady was a beautiful, genuine soul. His smile was indescribable, and his presence lit up every room. His heart was gold. Brady felt and loved deeply. He loved Saige and the Wilkey’s and Tischners. He loved his brothers and sisters. He loved his parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his dog Moose, and oh how he loved his mama bear. Brady is preceded in death by his uncles, Timothy Orin Plumb and Allen William Blackmer. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Saige Wilkey; his parents Kimberly and Joshua Hutchings, Nathan and Renae Plumb; siblings Madyson Hutchings, Hannah McKay, Dexter Hutchings, Hal Hutchings, Arden Hutchings, Ava Plumb, and Grayson Plumb; grandparents Dennis and Roxanne Lamb, Cynthia Plumb, Stephen and Roberta Plumb, Debi and Del Hutchings, and William Blackmer, and a great grandfather, Ross L. Birdsall. He has too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list.

Brady was loved by so many people as evidenced by the outpouring of love we have received in the form of messages, food, visits, financial donations, and prayers. We have felt your prayers and have been comforted during this time of unbearable pain. We are so grateful for the time we have had with him and the many beautiful memories we have made together. It is ironic that Brady was so enamored with rocks, as he became a rock to so many throughout his short life. Those close to him have been the recipients of his strength and were blessed by his unwavering support. We miss Brady. We miss our conversations with him, his comforting presence, his support and encouragement. We miss his smile, his laugh, his singing, his whistling, his hugs, and even his messes. Oh, how we wish we could have given him the relief he was looking for, but he needed much larger arms wrapped around him than we could provide. We ache for him and cannot imagine our lives without him. We are grateful for the knowledge that he is no longer suffering and that we will see him again. We know that families are forever and hope to do better and to love better knowing he is waiting. Please love each other, hug each other, and check on each other, and love like Brady.
