Betty Lou Palmer

Betty Lou Hendrickson Palmer was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world after a battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home March 3, 2022 surrounded by her husband, daughters, sons-in-law and 3 grandsons. She was born to John and Berniece Hendrickson March 30, 1951 in Park City, Utah. After graduating from high school she attended a year at BYU. She married her sweetheart in the Salt Lake City Temple on July 23, 1970.

Betty loved adventure, being outdoors and having fun especially if she was in her hometown. She always required anyone she was with to breathe in the “good Park City air”. She adored being with her grandchildren. After her first battle with breast cancer, she promptly retired and decided to play with her grandchildren. She made it a priority in her life to take them every week. They went to the aquarium, out for ice cream, to a park, or to Thanksgiving Point. She had a special relationship with each one of them and made a huge impact on each of their lives.

Betty’s love for adventure took her many places with her sweetheart. After retirement they traveled often. Her favorite places to visit were Disneyworld, Park City, Myrtle Beach, Hawaii, and fishing in Alaska. She valued education and finished her Associates Degree in Finance in 2004.

Betty was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving the Lord especially if it was serving in Primary or in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, which she did for several years. Her most recent calling was working with the Activity Day Girls and playing the piano for Primary, both of which brought her happiness.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister, and many friends. She leaves behind her sweetheart of 53 years, Randy Palmer, her daughters: Krista (Erik) Hansen, Lynette (Michael) Gould, Shelly (David) Hill; her grandchildren: Kimberlie Hansen, Johnathan Hansen, Laurie (Ashley) Gould, Bradley Gould, Zackery Gould, Adrianne Hill and Scott Hill; her sister, Jolene (William) Hesterman, and several more family members and friends. Betty was loved by all who met her and she set a wonderful example of strength, integrity, faith and love. She had a huge impact on so many lives and will be deeply missed.

Viewings will be held Friday, March 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at the Honeysuckle Ward building, 136 West Summerhill Drive, Saratoga Springs, Utah and also Saturday, March 12th from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Park City Cemetery. All who would like to attend may do so.
