Amy Jo Willis

May 2, 1962 — October 1, 2022

Amy Jo Willis

Amy Jo Willis, age 60, of Tucson, Arizona, left this world on October 1, 2022 after a courageous battle from a rare bacterial infection.  She was hospitalized for a month and had been sick for the last year with heart problems, and other illnesses.  Despite the pain, she did not give up hope of getting well. Her last words, " I'm just too tired." She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of death and knew how much we all loved her.

Amy was born on May 2, 1962 to Bill and Joan Morris. She was born in Payson, Utah, and graduated from Tintic High School, in Eureka, Utah.

She lived several places through out her life. Eureka, Utah, Globe Arizona, Safford Arizona, Tucson Arizona, and Bremerton, Washington. She left Washington, so she could return to Globe, to be close to some of her family members.

Amy worked in the health care industry, restaurant industry, travel and secretarial positions. In her early years she met and married Paul Willis.  They were later divorced, She never had any children, but was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She had a big personality, and a variety of friends.  Many times she was the life of the party. Amy was creative, she could see the potential in salvaged or left over items. She would turn them into something special for a friend, family member, or her home. She loved nature, polar bears, history, all kinds of music, including Rosemary Clooney. She was organized, and knew where things were in her house. Amy was a rock hound, a collector of many different things, and could have easily been a beach bum.

Amy leaves behind her sister Mickie ( Gaylon ) Thompson, Jackie ( Dennis ) Mitchell, nieces and nephews and a little Maine Coon Cat Sweet Pea.
