Our sweet mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Adele LeBaron Stanley, 88, of Santaquin returned to be with our Heavenly Parents, her husband and predeceased relatives on Jan. 16, 2013. She was born in Santaquin on Dec. 29, 1924, the fifth of seven children born to George Washington LeBaron Jr. and Lavina Avanes Greenhalgh. She grew up in Santaquin and worked on the family farm in Genola throughout her youth. She attended elementary and junior high schools in Santaquin and graduated from Payson High School in 1942.

She met the love of her life (Thays) at a dance following a Juab-Payson basketball game. She had long, flowing red hair and Thays described her as the prettiest girl he had ever seen. They courted and were married on Sept. 9, 1943 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They raised three children and were life partners for 66 years until Thays passed away on Oct. 10, 2009. Adele was a humble, loving person who supported and served worthy causes in a quiet, inconspicuous manner. She enjoyed animals, flowers, mountain scenery and catching fish. She was a proficient homemaker who loved to sew, cook foods that she had helped to produce, and manage a household. She knew the value of hard work which she applied in her home, garden and yard. She always demonstrated a tender love for others, especially children. Visitors were always welcome in her home.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in several callings in the Relief Society, Primary and activity committees. During recent years, she struggled with health issues, doing so with elegance and without complaint.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Thays), her parents, one sister (Phyllis) and four brothers (Wendell, Merton, Arden and Norman). She is survived by three children, Carolyn of Cumming, Georgia, Norman (Carma) of Shelley, Idaho, and James (Karlene) of Santaquin, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, a brother, Wayne LeBaron.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Jan. 21, at the Santaquin North Stake Center, 545 North 200 East with Bishop Art Adcock officiating. A viewing well be held at the church from 9:30 am a" 11:00 am on the day of the funeral. Burial will be at the Santaquin Cemetery.
